Executive Team
David M. Engert, Executive Chairman
David M. Engert has served on the Healthation Board of Directors since February 2008 and is currently the company's executive chairman. Prior to joining Healthation, Mr. Engert was president and chief executive officer of NightHawk Radiology Holdings, Inc. Mr. Engert was the founder and owner of ES3, a strategic consulting and investment company since 2007. Prior to 2007, from 2002 to 2006, Mr. Engert served as the president, chief executive officer and director of Quality Care Solutions, Inc., one of the nation's leading providers of advanced healthcare payer enterprise application solutions, which was acquired by TriZetto, Inc. in January 2007. Prior to 2002, Mr. Engert held a number of senior level management positions in the healthcare industry over the previous 10 years, including senior vice president & general manager at McKesson Corporation's Managed Care Division.
Scott J. Kornhauser, Chief Executive Officer & Co-founder
Providing the strategic direction, vision and leadership for Healthation, Scott Kornhauser has more than 25 years of senior management experience in the healthcare industry. His career spans the PBM, wholesale drug distribution, mail-service pharmacy, pharmaceutical repackaging, and healthcare IT market segments. Before founding Healthation, Scott spent 10 years as president of ComCoTec (now SXC), the leading information technology supplier of online transaction processing software solutions for the pharmacy benefit management marketplace.
Scott was previously vice president at HSN Health Services, Medi-Rx America, and Holsin Drug Company. In addition, Scott has provided management consulting services to numerous Fortune 200 healthcare companies and was president and COO of Medi.com where he developed the strategic and tactical plan for its fourth generation e-commerce healthcare IT venture acquired by WebMD.
Daniel Knies, Chief Technology Officer & Co-founder
Driving the technical direction of Healthation and the overall architecture, design and support of its core administrative system is Daniel Knies. Daniel has leveraged his extensive background in information technology development and management in the pharmaceutical and banking industries to serve as the chief architect and development manager of our Web-based benefit-management solution.
Daniel specializes in Internet development and programming languages, operating systems, hardware platforms, database management system, IT systems design and development. Before founding Healthation he served as director of Internet initiatives and provider services for Prospective Health Incorporated (PHI), a subsidiary of McKesson Corp. and a leading supplier of information technology solutions for the pharmacy and pharmacy benefit management industry. Daniel earned his Master of Science degree in Computer Information Science from the University of Phoenix.
Patricia Gorman, Chief Operating Officer
Patricia Gorman joined Healthation as its chief operating officer in 2011. Before joining Healthation, Pat was the chief information and quality officer for TriZetto Group's Corporate Information Services unit. Previously, Pat was the executive vice president of the company's Enterprise Solutions unit, where she was accountable for the strategic direction and operations of the company's software hosting and related business process outsourcing services. In this capacity, she tripled the growth of these business units and instituted commercially-graded best practices. Prior to joining TriZetto, Pat served as executive vice president of corporate operations for Time Warner Telecom, where she introduced process-management techniques that substantially reduced operational costs and improved quality performance. Before that, she spent 23 years at AT&T in a variety of roles, ranging from corporate operations and marketing to sales branch and product management. Pat received her MBA from Seton Hall University and a bachelor's degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
David Keane, Chief Financial Officer
David Keane joined Healthation as its chief financial officer in 2010. Before joining Healthation, David was vice president of finance, Americas Pacific for Carl Zeiss Vision. Before that David was a principal with SynergyApplied where he served for more than four years as part-time and interim CFO for several small- to mid-sized companies. David was formerly chief executive officer and chief financial officer at Pharmaceutical Care Network. David lives in California and is a licensed CPA in the State of Ohio.
Dawn Coen, Vice President, Quality
Dawn Coen has 17 years of experience in all phases of software development, focusing primarily on quality practices, test automation and organizational process improvement. Dawn has built high-performance quality teams at various software development companies throughout the Chicagoland area. Each team successfully improved the overall product quality and organizational efficiency in industries including insurance, human resources, healthcare and publishing. In addition, Dawn has managed development, documentation, business analysis and implemented automated testing practices at several organizations.
Dawn's significant previous positions include manager of quality assurance at Rapid Solutions Group, a publishing company that catered to large financial markets; senior manager of quality assurance and documentation at SXC Health Solutions, Inc., a software company providing solutions for the pharmacy payer and provider industries; manager of QA at Applied Systems, Inc., a software development company specializing in software for the independent insurance agency; and consultant at Andersen Consulting, LLC, (now Accenture) where she worked on projects in the government, financial services and utilities industries.
Dawn graduated Cum Laude from Bradley University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics/Actuarial Science and a double minor in Economics and Business Administration.
Shawna Luck, Vice President, Finance & Administration
Shawna Luck brings 25 years of general management and business experience to her role as Healthation's vice president of finance and administration. Shawna has been with the company since 2003 and in a full-time capacity since 2006. She is responsible for all financial management aspects of the company's operations (accounting, tax, controlling and contracts), providing leadership and coordination in administrative, business planning and budgeting.
Before joining Healthation, Shawna managed a $1.2M area business unit for HQ Global Workplaces, one of the largest national office outsourcing companies. Before that she was a manager at KPMG Consulting serving clients such as Amway, 3M and GE Information Systems. After receiving her Bachelor of Science in Business Management, Shawna was a manager at Jostens Learning Corporation and director of facilities and human resources at MediaShare Corporation. Shawna is based out of the company's San Diego office.
